Kral Puncher W - Walnut PCP air gun

Kral Puncher W - Walnut PCP Air Rifle - All Time Favourite!

Today, we've drawn the line, and we're going to make another video. I was thinking, what am I going to start with? You know, in the shop, I looked around and thought, my goodness, I'm coming back to the Kral Puncher W. This little bad boy right here is an all-time favorite. So, let's go do the unboxing, show you what it's got, take it to 50 meters, and show you what it can do. See you in a bit.

[Music]

Alright, ladies and gentlemen, here is the box. It comes in a cardboard box. To be honest, for our South African customers, you can order them from overseas in those hard carry cases, but again, the price will go up. We try to make it easier for our customers to make a decision on buying, let's say, this Kral air gun by bringing it in a cardboard box, which makes it a little bit cheaper. Some clients already have bags, so it works out.

[Unboxing]

Let's open it up. You'll see it has its manual. If you lose it, you can download it from the Kral website. It includes all the essential information on how to reload and various cautions, though we often only read those when there's a problem.

[Magazines]

It comes with two magazines in the box. They are the 12-shot round ones with see-through cases. We also offer other style magazines for Kral. Some clients have problems with breaking the internal parts of these magazines if they turn them the wrong way, snapping a little bridge inside. For those who struggle with this, we brought in a simpler, foolproof type magazine. This one is a 10-shot and very easy to use. Kral also has new magazines that are all black and work quite well. So, you've got choices, which is pretty cool.

[Accessories]

In this little packet, you get a couple of O-rings, a full probe with a little Allen key, and a single shot loader tray. There's also a plastic Picatinny rail with an Allen cap head screw for mounting accessories. The gun itself has a beautiful Turkish walnut stock and a pressure gauge at the bottom. The full probe we have in the shop requires a female quick disconnect coupler and a diary washer to connect to your full station at home.

[Features]

This gun has a traditional look and feels like a real rifle. You can decock it and it has a very smooth safety near the thumb. The cocking lever is the spoon type but can be upgraded to a heavy-duty one. It has a power wheel to adjust the speed by controlling the air flow through the barrel.

The barrel is either 530mm or 580mm, with a cap at the front to protect the crown. It has an UNF thread for installing a silencer, which is recommended as this gun can be quite loud.

[Specs]

The manual indicates that with a 2.2 configuration, you get about 36 shots per fill with a max velocity of around 975 ft/s with an 18.13 grain pellet, though in real-world conditions, I expect around 900 ft/s.

[Accessories Continued]

I'll be using a DonnyFL silencer and a Maru zero stop scope with high definition glass, a 5 to 35x56 first focal plane scope with flip-up caps and a sun shade. This scope is a bit overkill for today but it's excellent for precision shooting. I'll be using my trusty GoPro Hero 7 Black Edition with the Eagle Vision lens to record.

[Shooting]

I've opted to shoot these Dead Center JTS pellets, 18.13 grains. While shooting, I realized I didn't mention the trigger. It's a two-stage match trigger that can be adjusted for let off and can be moved to the left or right. Let's get everything on target.

[Shooting Results]

Shooting at 50 meters, I found that the wind affects accuracy significantly. The gun is capable of tight groups, but wind conditions must be considered. The Kral Puncher W is very quiet with the silencer, making follow-up shots easy. It's a traditional style air gun that looks and feels great.

[Down Range]

At 50 meters, with varying wind conditions, I demonstrated how the wind affects pellet trajectory. Even though it's not a perfect world, understanding your holdovers and wind conditions can improve your shooting accuracy. This gun is an all-time favorite for its classic look and feel, and it's perfect for target shooting and backyard plinking.

[Final Thoughts]

The Kral Puncher W is impressive for its accuracy and ease of use. It's pointable, easy to use offhand or on a tripod, and suitable for both target shooting and hunting. Despite not being a high-power air gun, it gets the job done. Remember, we have various air guns to suit different applications, so choose based on your needs. This gun, with JSB 18 grain or JTS pellets, is deadly accurate and doesn't break the bank. Enjoy shooting, and remember to analyze your misses to become a better shooter.
